I was born in Guyana, formerly British Guiana. I came to England to study Medicine and graduated at the University of Glasgow Medical School in 1973. In 1977 after acquiring the necessary skills, I accepted a position as second partner in General Practice in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. At one time the two Doctor practice had three branch surgeries. I became senior partner in 1981.
I retired on March 31st, 2004 at the young age of 60. I left General Practice with wide ranging skills. I used acupuncture and hypnotherapy as often as possible in a busy urban practice. I believe some forms of Alternative Medicine should work side by side with conventional medicine. Fortunately General Practitioners are increasingly accepting this fact. Acupuncture is now in common use in pain clinics. Hypnotherapy is perhaps the most powerful tool at our disposal. It is vastly under used. Through hypnosis, you can tap into the subconscious mind, and steer it is the direction that works for you rather than against you.

For many years, I have been amazed by the mystique surrounding Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It shocked me when I realised that in USA alone there are 40-45 million people suffering from a condition with no real cause and no structural abnormality. Finding a reason for this heavy burden was not difficult but the solution requires hard work.
